Players Transfers Assistant (Junior Coordinator) [Austria]


 

The European Handball Federation’s Sport and Game Services Department (Business Unit Transfers) is looking to ensure the regular activity flow with the appointment of a Players Transfer Assistant.

The position offers the opportunity to get a professional approach to what the movement of active handball players entails in light of the governing rules and procedures. Moreover, observing and following the tendencies linked to different club and/or national team competitions.

The job will cover a wider range, including internal support in terms of sport management and educational activities.

The European Handball Federation (EHF) oversees 50 National and two Associated Federations across Europe and is intrinsically recognised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The EHF is dedicated to the organisation and management of prominent handball competitions that today are crowned by the EHF EURO events for national teams and the EHF Champions League for club teams. The scope of duties exceeds the arrangement of events, the EHF is dedicated to the development of the game from grassroots development and education to top-level events.

For this role, we highly appreciate an open-minded and responsible candidate with a willingness to learn. We are looking for an adaptive learner with problem-solving skills, an affinity for IT and a logical understanding of processes. Experience working in an international environment, across different cultures and languages, the ability to communicate in English and German, and a university degree, are advantageous.

Please note that the salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.

Tasks

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assistance to the Players’ Transfer Senior Coordinator regarding the handling and documented procedure related to transfers application and regular management.
  • Communicate with external agencies in functional responsibilities and coordinate internal stakeholders and staff members.
  • Maintain documentation for the duration of assigned project(s) and task(s)
  • Covering support topics related to office infrastructure.
Players’ Transfer

Support Transfers – Player Eligibility – EHFamily, respectively directly dealing with:

  • Players’ Database maintenance
  • Players’ Eligibility verification and confirmation
  • Official Squads: application, registration, and deadline
  • Related financial matters
  • Education Compensation handling according to the existing rules and procedures.
  • Transfer Statistics – monthly/yearly
Sport Management

  • Assist the Demand Manager regarding project management and documentation.
  • Upload video presentations of the EHF CAN activities/events to the official YouTube channel.
  • Update the Digital Score Sheet for XPS – Sideline and Handball-ai / Video System EURO Events.
  • Assist during the preparatory phase with the organisation of webinars, conferences, and courses
  • Logistical support & assistance as a backup to activities run within the department.
  • Maintenance of accurate statistical records related to the EHF Experts and EHF Master Coaches
  • Administration of the Coaches' Licensing processes and database management.
Other Tasks

  • Liaise with clients and internal personnel.
  • Filter general information, queries, and phone calls.
  • Planning and organisation of meetings and conference calls, including the preparation of documents and presentations, as well as taking minutes.
  • Support to EHF office team when necessary.
  • Dealing with confidential documents.
Requirements

The EHF envisions that the ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Good understanding of business and functional requirements.
  • Awareness of the design of entity-relationship models
  • Proficiency in using the MS Office suite and digital work processes.
  • Confident appearance, effective communication skills; the ability to communicate in English and German (written and spoken); other European languages useful.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and work under pressure; hands-on mentality.
  • Stress-resistant and solution-orientated.
  • Interest in emerging digital technology trends.
  • Team spirit and a willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Interest in team sports; interest in and an understanding of handball is advantageous.

  • Understanding of the organisation and needs of sport on a national federation level from emerging nations through to top nations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to drive projects forward.
